As background, we're a family of six, formerly living in a 2000 sq. ft. house. It had been apparent for awhile that we needed more space. (our daughter was relagated to sleeping in her crib in the dining room) After a few false starts in the planning stage, two with the so called "assistance" of different architects that didn't reap anything worthwhile, we finally we took matters into our own hands and designed the addition ourselves. Our information was then turned over to a draftsperson, who was well versed in County building codes, and construction requirements. She created the finished drawings (by hand, drafting board, t-square, etc. !!) necessary to get this thing rolling. Attached are some pictures showing what we started with, and what we now have.

As of May 2008 this project still isn't complete. We should be moving our bedrooms into one of the new parts in June, then modifications can be performed in some of the existing house. Hope we're all wrapped up by this fall.

Good luck with your project!
Beware of spam posts that have been posting on blogs somehow, that post links to viruses. I haven't come across any on my blogs, but someone else over on the Lost Community blog has seen them. This first one here might be a candidate. One virus post lists a link that says "here".
